Product design consultants, Quadro Design Associates, have been selected as members of the newly formed China Design Task Force.

26 June 2007

The taskforce, set up by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), met for the first time yesterday (Tuesday 26 June) with the aim of helping British designers win business in China.

The 11 member taskforce is made up of British design companies that have significant international experience, particularly in Asia. It will host seminars in China about the strength of UK design and share intelligence with the British design community through direct training and marketing activities. Taskforce members will be participating in conferences in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuxi and Guangzhou from Oct 2007.

Phil Gray, Founder Director of Quadro and member of the Task Force said:

“It's a privilege to have been selected and gives us the opportunity to share our experience of working in the south of China for the last nine years. We've seen at first hand the rapid changes that are taking place in the region; there is a real thirst for learning and increasing demand for design services. I believe we can be great ambassadors for the strong traditions of British design as well as giving advice to the UK design community.”

“Our particular approach to new product design has found favour with clients in and around Hong Kong and I'm sure with our colleagues in the Task Force we will be able to seize this opportunity and build some real momentum for British designers”.

Taskforce members cover several design disciplines: retail, communications, transport, industrial design and design management.
